****INFORMATION FOR THE 16TH ANNUAL JSO 10K WILL BE POSTED SOON****

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO LOOK BELOW FOR PAST EVENT INFORMATION

Greetings and welcome to the Joint Special Operations 10K Run / 5K Walk page, sponsored by the Special Operations Communicators Association. The JSO 10K is now in its 15th running and we look forward to another great year. This 10K is the only one of its kind in the Fayetteville area. The course is a very challenging dirt, mud, gravel and sand trail. It doesn't matter what date we pick six months in advance, you can count on clouds or rain which in turn makes the course that much more demanding. There is no limit for registered participants and we usually have between 400-800 runners/walkers and we are growing every year. Last year at the 14th Annual JSO 10K we crushed our record from 2009 of 480 participants with a very impressive 810 participants, thanks to all who came out and ran/walked last year. The race is open to all ages and abilities. The race is open to all military, DoD civilians and the Fort Bragg surrounding communities. It is a great time for all, bring your friends and family and enjoy a great event that you just cannot find in this area. We have had runners with baby strollers, just know that the course is mostly sand and dirt. A regular stroller will not make it all the way, but a 3-wheel running trail stroller will be better suited. For any questions related to the race, please send your questions to events@thesoca.org

After Race T-Shirt Pick-up

We will be at Sports USA on November 17, 2011 between 12:00-1:00 pm. We will be parked outside around the front entrace in a Red Dodge truck and a JSO 10K sign. We regret that we will not have absolutely every shirt available, but will have most on hand. We will have all the shirts available the following week on Tuesday November 23, 2011 between 12:00-1:00 pm at the same location at Sports USA. We have never ran out of shirts in years past, but it's a good problem for us. Bottom line is that everyone that registered will receive their shirt if you come by to pick it up. Thank you.

10K Testimonials

My trophy sits on my kitchen counter and reminds me of a great race last week.
Thank you so much for an excellent race organization, wonderful volunteers and last but not least for a very challenging running route.

It is absolutely worth it to get out there in the dark and (!) rain and run this race. I did it for the last 3 years and hope I can join the crowd next year again.

Everybody takes a lot of pride in helping and volunteering at the Special Operations Run. This is awesome! What a great success!

Again: Thank you so much.

Regards,
Maren

This is a great run route. It is also a great run for those who can comfortably finish street-ran 10Ks...challenging themselves to the next step with a cross-country course. Deep sand, rocks, water, an open field.. makes for an interesting time! I give it 5 stars for the route.

If it's not raining, cold and muddy, It's not the JSO 10K

This was my first JSO 10K and it was awesome. I love the route and though I'm retiring this next spring, I plan on running this every year.

This was my second year in a row pushing my son in the stroller for the 10K. This year was just as much of a challenge as last year even without all the mud. I loved it! It's definitely one of my favorite local races. I really love the crazy course and lunch/raffle. Thanks again for a fun morning.

A very well organized race and an awesome course! I run these trails for PT almost every day and never have as much fun as with this race. From registration down to the finish, the race was very well organized. The opportunity to check your time on one of the computers was great! I have noticed that some have commented about no finishers medals...while that is true, the t-shirt for this race is one of the better designs and fabrics of t-shirts I have received, and I get a lot more use out of race shirts than medals. Overall, with or without finishers medal, I would highly recommend this race and can't wait to run again next year!
